Feel good movies make me feel bad.

X

I have to say, nothing turns me off to a movie more than hearing something along the lines of. “The feel good movie of the year is finally here!” or “A romantic comedy.” Both spell utter failure to both those who made the movie, and the pathetic audiences who actually spend enough money to fund the production of more movies in the same awful categories. This is just a helpful suggestion to those in charge of advertising. If I heard more movies described as, “The movie for sociopaths.” or “This movie would make your mother cry.” I might be be more interested. Let’s stop with the cheery films we seem to be plagued with, and begin producing more films such as Saw. That is a great example of a franchise with literally no happy in it. I love those movies!
