Apple’s Customer Service Opinion.

Noose

Alright, so there is a noose for this post’s picture. It must have been a bad experience right? No, actually. I was just in a noose mood today, and it’s presence on this page has nothing to do with my experience with Apple’s support. The reason for the call to support was twofold. One was that my left earbud was buzzing on the included headset. That’s no good. And the second was a failure of my AC adapter included with the iPhone. Also not good, however I was not worried, as my previous experiences with Apple’s support were always positive. Upon calling I immediately spoke with a technical support representative who allowed me to explain the problems, and my troubleshooting steps, then concluded that I needed replacement parts. He then arranged for DHL to overnight me the parts, which also had return postage paid so that I could return the failed pieces. Great. Off the phone with the problem solved in 10 minutes or less. Sure enough, the next morning DHL had already dropped off the packages. Great. There was one problem however, and that is that the envelope containing the AC adapter was empty. At that point I had to call them and try to convince them that someone had slipped up enough to mail me an empty package. If I were Apple, I would have thought I was lying. Thankfully no one accused me of what I am sure they were all thinking, and another replacement was sent which was received the next day. I then placed my defective goods into their return envelopes, and dropped them off at my local DHL store. Case closed. Overall a very painless experience, even considering the problem with the empty letter. I think that one thing that really set the Apple customer service experience apart from other companies is their eagerness and willingness to fix the problem. Most companies would never consider paying for an overnight shipment, but at Apple, this is common place. Fantastic. If you ever have problems with anything Apple, give them a call. You will be in great hands.
